The first thing I noticed when Sony online store's website appeared was that the way they have laid out this site is Perfectly Balanced. There is a header bar with advertising, "buy two get free delivery!", the header also contains tabs with links to various parts of Sony's site. You can become a member by completing a very short and simple application and then replying to an email, or just browse through their extensive range of Music and Electrical items.
The sites index/home page is structured around four main lists, each containing links to music and music items. The first of the lists is NEW RELEASES, Where you can order the latest music and keep your collection up to date. The second is PRE ORDER, Here you can order upcomming new releases and have them delivered to your home the same day they hit the stores. The third is SONY MUSIC TOP 10, This list contains links to sony's current top 10 sellers, giving you the oppertunity to keep up with the times and last but not least is the list of FEATURED ARTISTS, here there are usually 5 or so links to sony's currently featured artists.
Earlier I mentioned the tabs on the header, these tabs will give you access to the following :-
Genres - This link takes gives you the option to see genre specific music selections, the options are :- Childrens, Christian/Gospel, Classic, Country, Christmas, Jazz, Pop & Rock and Rap & RnB.
New Releases - This link directs you straight to the new release list.
Formats - Running your mouse pointer over this link will give you the options to go to specific music hardware pages. The options are as follows :- Mini Disk, DVD, Vinyl and VHS.
Search - Offers you the ability to search for any specific item of Artist.
My Account - Allows you to log into your account.
Shopping Cart - Click here to see what items you have decided to purchase and the total cost of your purchases.
Now when it comes to customer service and delivery Sony the store showed me that they are second to none! The customer service side of things is and was handled in a matter of minutes and the delivery arrived at my door right on time. The accuracy in of the order handelers was superb and my overall satisfaction with Sony the store is, well 10/10!!!
