HomeVisions seems to be a supplier who orders products directly from the manufacturer and then has the manufacturer ship the product to their customer. I guess this keeps their prices down. I encountered several problems with HomeVisions. I placed an order on Dec. 10 for a wood video cabinet that I was planning to use for storing DVDs. After the order was placed and the additional $50 for shipping was added to the cost of the product, I received an expected arrival date of Jan. 9. Okay, that left me a bit perturbed since I wanted to have it for Christmas, but I dealt with it and patiently waited for my product. When it arrived, it was from Sauder Woodworking, which if you don't know is a particle board furniture maker. Had I know that Sauder was the manufacturer, I never would have ordered the piece to begin with! I live in an apartment, so I was not the one to accept the shipment. Had I been able to reject the shipment, I would have. At least then I would have only been out the extra $50 for shipping. However, that was not the case. There was no return information included with the item and so I emailed their customer service. After 2 days of no response, I called their customer service. I was given a long list of things I had to do in order to return the merchandise. So, my husband and I lugged the 78 pound box to the car and drove to the nearest mailing location to send it back. When we got there, I was first told it would cost me $90 to ship the piece back. Finally I was able to send it back for a mere $72.50. I contacted customer service again because I felt that they at least owed me the $72.50 for sending it back since it was misrepresented on their website. However, I was told that they will only refund the cost of the item. That means I paid $120 in shipping charges for an item I would have rejected and didn't keep! The piece was only $149 to begin with! UGH!
I will never use this company again, because I don't like throwing money away when I receive a product that is not of the quality I expected it to be.
Their customer service was not prompt in returning emails, but they were semi-courteous in their response. Their phone operator did help me to know how to return the item, but their process is quite long and could use some help.
I was not satisfied with this company and I hope that others will think twice before ordering a product based solely on a picture on the internet.
