Simply put don't buy these! My experience was reinforced by the previous reviewer’s experience. So I did not attempt to gain help from the distributor. I just returned them to "The Container Store" where I bought them.

I did experiment to see if there was a simple solution to the problem. Reasoning that the problem had to be in the closure seam or the valve I taped over the seam. That did not seem to help at all. The next step was to place a piece of plastic (Saran Wrap) over the valve and then press the cap over the top with the plastic covering the valve inlet. Presumably a leak here would suck the plastic tighter and be self sealing. In combination with the seam tape it did seem to slow the leakage slightly on one of the two bags I bought. The end result was the same - within a matter of hours relaxation was obvious and a day the bags were re-flatted.

There must be something fundamentally wrong with the material, factory made seams, valve or ???. I agree that overall they have an air of cheapness about them.
