I have similar experience and I'm really impressed with Linksys, which is owned by Cisco Systems. This should tell u a lot. If u download a lot, music and such, routing thru this product is extremely easy. Remember that you are basically installing a firewall with these routers, so 'routing ability' is a key issue, otherwise, u would have HELL downloading anything. For example, if ur a WinMX music downloader, you will need to configure the router to open a special port for this high speed connection with WinMX. In this case its called 'TCP 6699' and 'UDP 6257' that have to be individually set up on your router in order to really take advantage of your hi speed connection, while preserving the benefits of a firewall. And when u get it right, man, u are rockin!! Right now, my download speeds are 2.5 to 3 meg, so I'm definately cruisin right along here. With my Linksys 802.11b system, it never wavers or fluctuates. Its truly a miracle.
