About a month and a half ago my ongoing love affair with my grill came to an abrupt stop when I walked out onto the patio with a plate of mouthwatering, tenderized and perfectly seasoned chicken breasts only to see that someone swiped my propane tank and regulator from my grill. First I thought that someone removed it and placed it in the utility shed or possibly [gasp] took it get it refilled. After an exhaustive search that included asking everyone that had used it within the last month I came to the sad conclusion that both items had been stolen. Assuming that I could just cruise into Home Depot and pick up replacements I didn’t really think much of it – how hard could it be to pick up replacement parts for a grill? A month and a half later I can say that this was one of the most annoying things I’ve had to endure however thanks to the great people at Char-Broil and Grill Lover’s my “black dragon” is now back in action!
Home Depot was absolutely no help in getting the correct regulator for my grill and when asked if the model on the shelf would fit the grill I had I was told “without a doubt” and “it should take less than three minutes to hook it up”. After several trips to Home Depot I gave up, returned the regulator and called Char Broil for assistance [something I should have done from the start]. I obtained the correct model number, got the price and was just about to place my order when I was told that the item was out of stock. Not wanting to deal with a back ordered item I asked if there was a way to see when it was back in stock and order it online. That’s when I was pointed in the direction of Grill Lovers.
The site has listings of all the current models of grills that Char Broil has on the market, replacement part ordering section, care and cleaning tips for all models of grills and very nice little gourmet section. Initially I thought all I would do at the site is order my replacement regulator and be done with it – that is until I saw that there were some very nice accessory pieces available for my grill. Suffice it to day, I spent a lot more money at the site than I initially expected but am completely glad that I did!
Range of Products
I expected the site to carry replacement parts and not much more. Wasn’t I in for a shock when I saw they sold everything under the sun for grilling! I was really impressed with the grilling tool sets and individual pieces. The Soy Ginger grilling sauce was something that I had to try when I saw it listed in the Sauces & Rubs portion of the site and highly recommend it. There are a ton of gift sets that can also be purchased and these make great gifts for that someone special. Chances are if it pertains to grilling – you will be able to find it at the site.
Outside of the regular grilling tools there are also a lot of kitchen products available at the site. Toasters, wine racks, peppermills, tenderizers, organizers, garlic presses and more. I saw so many things that I wanted that I started my own wish list – another great perk of the site. You can add things to your wish list so you can find them easily or email it to someone to let them know what you are most interested in at the site. In addition to all the great products that they sell, there are plenty of recipes and helpful hints in the Outdoor Life section. There are also product listed there that will help you when planning an event so everything will go as smoothly as possible.
Pricing
I checked out the grill that I own [purchased at Home Depot] and found that it was only three dollar more at the site. I’m not sure what the current selling price is at Home depot to compare the two – but after two years there’s a good chance it might be a few dollars more. For the most part the prices are great. The barbequing tools are top notch and extremely sturdy. I was able to throw out all the older grilling tools when I replaced them with new ones I ordered from the site and have loved using them so far. The site carries products I never knew existed – like a clip on battery-operated light so you can see what you are doing at night. [I had to have that!] No longer will I have to deal with undercooked burgers or worry that my chicken breasts are overcooking. When I priced this piece at a local grill store after ordering and receiving mine from Grill Lovers, they wanted $7.00 more than the Grill Lover site. Again, there are so many different products at the site – some of which you may have never seen – so do your homework and compare the prices to other sites as well as your local stores to see where the real value is. For the most part the prices are about the same as places like Home Depot but the site offers you more variety, products and a great guarantee as well.
Customer Service
W-O-W! Talk about people who know their stuff! I had to call several times about the correct regulator as well as with questions about the accessory pieces that I wanted to order for my grill. I wanted to really see if they had 24 hour support I called around 3 am and my call was answered in less and a minute by a real person – none of that voice mail hell with this company.

Shipping Fees
Costs for shipping fees are calculated by the total dollar amount of your order. However there are a few exceptions to this. Larger items, grills, smokers and larger replacement pieces will have a special shipping charge that will be shown on the page. Most grills ship to your door via Federal Express ground service for a cost of $19.99 to $75.00 depending on the size and weight. My first order was $38.93 and cost me $6.95 for deliver. The second order was $84.18 and cost me $9.95 in shipping fees. Anything over $200.00 is $19.95 unless there is a special shipping provision. The prices for delivery are completely acceptable and in all honestly are less than what I expected. Both shipments arrived within seven working days and were perfectly packed to ensure that the contents wouldn’t be damaged in transit.
Return Policy
Don’t worry about getting burned [err another pun] when you make a purchase from Grill Lovers because you are backed with a no bull 30 day money back guarantee. If, for any reason, you aren’t totally pleased with what you ordered, you can return it within 30 days of the delivery date for a complete refund – minus shipping fees of course. If they made an error on your order they will pay for the return shipping fees and refund that amount or ship out the correct item.
Gift Certificates
Not sure what to get that special someone that just so happens to be a barbequing maniac? Why not consider a gift certificate to the site? They can be redeemed online or when using a catalog and are available in denominations of $5.00 with the minimum being $25.00. This is a great way to spoil someone that loves to grill since there are so many different products at the site to choose from. Even if they have every gadget, spice and accessory known to man – I can almost guarantee that they’ll find something to their liking at the site.
The Bottom Line
I am extremely impressed with the products that are available at the site, ease of ordering, prices, navigation and general lay out of Grill Lovers. The customer service is outstanding and I know that if I need help in the future with anything I’ve purchased or would like more information about – they will be able to help me.
