Compared to other kettles out there, this one is very well designed (I have used mine for over five years).
I just want to point out that the heating element is NOT in the plastic base, but is concealed within the kettle itself.
Also, the term "cordless," when used to describe electric kettles, always refers to the fact that the cord is attached to the base, not to the kettle itself. This is how the term is used; it is not "false advertising."
