The Bottom Line Use them for doing comparison shopping; buy elsewhere.

Travelocity.com is a decent way to compare prices, but, having used them twice for buying tickets, I won't use them again.
Shortly after my first (uneventful) purchase of a ticket, they e-mailed me an offer for a $25 rebate off my next ticket. I followed all of the rules in the e-mail, but, when I was finishing up purchasing the ticket, and didn't notice anything about the $25, I called customer service. I was assured that it was "in the computer." Needless to say, I didn't get my check for $25, and, despite 2 more phone calls to their customer service, I didn't get anything except a bunch of inconsistent stories. Some reps said the rebate was in the computer, others assured me that there was nothing in the computer. Could be either incompetence or lies -- in either case, I wouldn't deal with them again.
Eventually, I e-mailed their CEO, and got a reply from yet another customer service rep. This time I was told that they would send me a check within 8 weeks. Needless to say, that promise wasn't kept either.
Yes, their web-site is a useful tool for comparison shopping (although it's no better than its many competitors, like Expedia). But who wants to deal with a company that can't fix things when they go wrong?
