Pros: web browsing, MS office type applications, decent performance and a great value
Cons: Not enough for today's most demanding games.
The Bottom Line: Unless you really need the power, you won't go beyond the capacity of this system until newer software comes out. You'll be happy you bought it, even now. (2/01)

| sr4b's Full Review: Dell Dimension XPS T500 |
I bought mine when it first came out (in May of '99). It has and continues to serve me well. I run Windows 2000 (though I used to use Win98). It has been reliable, trouble-free, and more than adequate for my law school years and beyond.
1. Web browsing: Make sure that it has enough ram (at least 128mb.).
2. It is still great for the vast majority of games. Only the bleeding edge will require something more than this computer.
3. You can upgrade gaming performance if you want to by adding a new video card, but I recommend against doing this. The reason: Just buy a whole new system. It would give you much better performance overall.
That said, I don't believe that there are many applications that would require more power than this system. If they do, then you definitely need several better components than just a video card.
