I use this webcam primarily for online chatting. It works pretty well, at least people can see your face clearly, unlike some other logitech ones I've used. I wouldn't recommend you to use it to take any pictures since the pictures seem to stretch horizontally for some reason. The room has to have sufficient amount of light, otherwise the images appear to be a little too dark. The name of this cam really says what it is - Home Desktop webcam. It's good for private use. Also, the shape of this webcam is quite different from the other ones and it's easy to be held, but too bad you can't place it on a desk or something, since it doesn't have a flat bottom.
