The Tivoli Henry Kloss Model One Radio is by far the best table radio I have ever experienced. I was looking for a small radio for my office when I stumbled across the Model One in an electronics catalog. I liked the simple style, read a number of reviews, and purchased the radio.

I was truly surprised at the quality of the sound when I plugged the Model One in and turned it on for the first time. I enjoy classical music and the clarity of the instruments was truly astounding. The horns and flutes were crisp while the the base instruments were very deep and strong. It is hard to believe that such a full, wonderful sound is coming from such a small speaker. The radio is not stereo, but in my opinion, stereo wouldn't add much to this radio.

The radio controls are simple to use and have a very high quality feel to them. You actually "hand tune" this radio. There is an indicator light that gets bright when you are tuning into the strongest signal. The reception is very good with little or no static. This surprised me since my office in in an area with a great deal of steel and concrete. Many coworkers in this building have trouble with reception on their "fancy" radios.

The wood cabinet is beautifully finished. I liked a few of the color combinations and had trouble deciding which one to choose. I ended up with the Maple / Green combination.

I plan on purchasing another Model One for my kitchen at home (that one will be white) as well as the new PAL portable model for outside.
