| bmerc's Full Review: Xerox DocuPrint N4525 Laser Printer |
We have a mixed Macintosh/Windows/Linux environment. We do both PS and PCL printing of whole books on this machine. It has saved us a lot of time, especially the duplexing feature. Duplex printing is nearly as fast as single-sided, about 40 PPM. In fact, this machine duplexes faster than our 65PPM copier does. The manual bypass feed tray is down low on the left side, which is a little awkward, but I think this is probably because of the duplexer design, and the fast and jam-free duplexing is worth the minor inconvenience in my opinion.
Network configuration was pretty straightforward. The N4525 is fairly compact, taking up less space than the old HP it replaced, but it's heavy.
Print quality is great at 600 or 1200 DPI. Even toner distribution, nice solid black areas, fine lines and screens look good.
Initial setup and configuration was a little complex but not terrible. SMB, Apple/Ethertalk, LPR, and Novell NDS and Bindery are all supported. It even has a USB port.
