If you have ever been to a dermatologist for any skin concerns that you may have had, you will know that a dermatologists office usually sells certain skin care product brands that are not always available at drugstores or department stores. Most of these products have medical journal documentation for their effectiveness, and they are recommended to you by a dermatologist based on your skin type and condition.
I used to buy certain glycolic acid and retinol products at my dermatologists office. However, sometimes the products recommended by my dermatologist would not be available right way at the office, and I had to wait for them to order it for me. After searching around on the internet I found a couple of sites where I could order these products immediately, for a slightly better price, avail of free shipping, and pay no sales tax.
Dermadoctor is one of these sites. It is run by Audrey Kunin, who is a board certified dermatologist. Dermadoctor sells a wide range of products recommended for problems such as acne, eczema, aging skin, skin rejuvenation, sensitive skin, and sun protection.
The Site
I would not call this site very high tech, but it is not gimmicky either. Dermadoctor is very easy, and intuitive to use; the navigation is very straightforward, and I have never had any problems finding the information I have needed quickly on this site. They have a good search function, as well as a browse by brand, and browse by condition buttons, that in my opinion are very useful.
Shopping
Not only does Dermadoctor carry a wide range of products, but they also have extensive information on every imaginable skin problem that exists. For me, the site is an excellent resource that dispenses no- nonsense information on skin care.
Some of the brand names that are available on this site are, Abreva, Afirm, Cellex C, MD Forte, Clinac O.C, Kinerase, Nizoral, K-Derm, etc. Upon clicking on the hyperlink of a product, a page comes up with both the image and detailed information about the product. You will be able to add the product to your cart on this page.
On their homepage, they have certain products that are the featured products, for the week. They also have links to articles that give you the latest information on skin care. They also have a weekly newsletter that I subscribe to, that alerts me any specials that they might have.
Checking Out
You do have to become a member, as well as obtain a password to check out, but most sites require that these days. Logging on is usually hassle free, that is if you remember your password! But, they will email your password to you, if you have forgotten it. Like any other decent site, they have the https, or the secure socket layer for your information protection.
Shipping
The site had free shipping for all orders above $49, when I shopped last week. Dermadoctor usually uses UPS, or airborne express for their shipping needs. My order arrived on the 2nd day as promised by them by UPS.
Final Note
I have shopped with Dermadoctor twice, and both times I have really been pleased with their service. I have never needed to contact their customer service for any reason. My orders have always arrived on time, and in perfect condition. In addition, they always send some extra samples with the order. And with my recent order, they also sent me a Valentines Day bath frizzer, as a free gift.
I will continue to shop at this site, for my serious skin care needs. However, please do exercise caution in using some of the higher strength products from this site. Do make sure that your dermatologist okays them for you, before you use them.
