Pros:Remote Desktop Software, Multi-media capability, Security
Cons:Price, Requires lots of RAM to truly appreciate
The Bottom Line: This is a great operating system for the professional and the home user.
Microsoft has integrated many features from its constantly evolving line of Home and Business Desktop Software. Some of the great features integrated into the OS are System Restore (from Windows ME), Remote Desktop (Terminal Server Lite from NT Server 4&5), File Encryption, Wireless Support and many other useful tools for the home/small office user.
The main thing I like is the reliability. I built a custom system for myself with components from a hodge-podge of vendors. So far all the drivers are playing nicely with Windows and with each other.
One of the features I use all of the time is Remote Desktop. I keep my main PC tucked away and use a laptop with a wireless connection (802.11b) to remote in to my main PC. This way I can work in the kitchen, in front of the living room, etc. All the while I am working on my main PC. I don't necessarily agree with MS's strategy of constantly releasing OS upgrades (that aren't stable) but its nice to see where they were headed. Windows XP clearly is the culmination of Windows 3.1, 95, 98, NT4 and ME. It makes any work I do easy and although the interface may not be intuitive, you can customize the layout to make it work for you.
