What do a Chia herb garden, a Sports Illustrated swimsuit calendar, a bun blaster machine, and a dust mop have in common? They are just a small sampling of unromantic gifts given to me by my most beloved Mr. Scenery.
So, on Valentine's Day, when he handed me something loosely wrapped in plain white tissue paper that felt like a a wire coat hanger--I thought I was actually getting a wire coat hanger. But inside was actually the Tingler, a multi-armed copper wire contraption whose directions promised to simultaneously stimulate hundreds of nerve endings in my head.
I followed the simple instructions to bend the straight rubber tipped wires out from the handle into soft curves so they resembled a pumpkin. Then I was prepared for tingling. First, I pushed the Tingler down on my head. To my surprise, nothing happened except me looking like an idiot in a strange metal beanie hat. I pulled the useless gift off--and WOW....I felt something. My head started tingling in the most pleasant way. I slid the thing back down on my head again and again. The tingly sensation actually occurs after you lift the thing off. Your scalp feels like it has experienced a vigorous head massaging shampoo at the salon multiplied by about two hundred fingers. Nice. It's even nicer when you add a little twisting and swirling action before you pull it off.(potentially producing some nasty tangles in long hair) Also, self-tingling is wonderful but the sensation is even more potent when someone else does it for you. Also,I find the Tingler especially useful when I have a tension headache. The tingles seem to relax me or at least distract from the pain.
The literature included with the Tingler recommends trying it on your pets. I dared to approach my cat with it and immediately her fur stood up in terror and she fled to the safety of the bookshelves.
If you know someone who loves head massages, this might be a fun stocking stuffer for next Christmas. The Tingler feels great, soothes headaches, and just overall beats the hell out of a dust mop as a gift. Or why not get one for everyone in your family, have them put these on their heads, and have lovely Christmas morning blackmail photos for years to come?
