RIP Otis (Reply to this comment)
by wildebeast
People seem to think Mr. Redding is still alive - alas, he has passed on to that Rock 'n' Roll Heaven everyone talks about. It's quite possible, though, that he did have SAD - he killed himself. And P.S., "sunshine on a cloudy day" came from The Temptations' song, "My Girl". That said, it was a very entertaining review, albeit a bit long-winded...

I always enjoy the way you entertain while writing your reviews. This one is no exception. Who would have thought that Otis has SAD,:)

Question (Reply to this comment)
by owling
Because you mention SAD, the implication seems to be that this lamp can be used to treat it. Can it? As you may know, it doesn't just take a full-spectrum light to treat SAD--it requires specific lux values at specific distances from your face (you usually buy a lamp designed just for that purpose). Is this lamp truly rated for SAD treatment? You might want to say either way, so as to avoid giving people the wrong impression either way.
If it is rated for SAD treatment, a few additional details would be handy (lux value, how far away you have to sit, whether it uses a reflector to boost the lux value, whether it has electronic baffles, etc.).
This is a really nice review of a lamp, but it does leave me with that one question...

Please pass on to Otis, the next time you see him, that he should be your biggest fan...after me.
Thanks for another gourmet meal.

Have had the office ott-lite for over 3 years, and absolutely love it!
Now you go and tell me about the make-up mirror...and got me hankerin' for it! And of course it would have to be an expensive hanker!
I gotta do some shoppin' 'round now!
