You'll be Tempted to Buy a Popcorn Machine

Pros:Great Picture, Good Price
Cons:No split screen PIP
The Bottom Line: For the price, this TV is virtually unbeatable.

I recently purchased a Hitachi 50GX20B, which is the same model as the 46GX01B, only the screen is 4 inches bigger. I did quite a bit of research on a lot of projection TV's before purchasing the Hitachi. The picture quality is great. It's hard to find a projection TV with 1000 lines of resolution, but the Hitachi does it. Keep in mind that HDTV has 1200 lines of resolution. There isn't much of a difference there.
The TV is very bright, and colors are very nice. The sharpness of the picture is excellent. My seating area is about 12 feet from the screen, and the picture quality is very good from that distance. The sound quality is good.
I still have not played a DVD on the TV, but I'm really looking forward to it. Even VHS movies look fantastic. You really do feel as if you're in a movie theater.
Comparing to a standard tube TV, the picture quality rivals good to excellent tube televisions.....but you have a whole lot more picture to enjoy.
If you are looking into purchasing a projection TV but aren't sure about the picture quality, this is the TV for you. The price is excellent for a TV of this quality. I paid $1487.00 for mine. That price is less than a lot of smaller projection TV's with lesser picture quality.
I'll admit, HDTV is great, but I still don't feel that the high cost is justified when there are TV's like this on the market.
