Pros: Price-to-features ratio, battery life, size/weight, screen, tech support, internal WiFi option
Cons: 1 USB 1.1 port, no firewire, overall design "clunky"
The Bottom Line: For my first PC notebook I really couldn't ask for much more.

| rschick69's Full Review: Dell Inspiron 4150 Series Notebook Computers |
|
I have never owned a PC before. I have been using Macs for 15 years. I have been very happy with my Dell Inspiron 4150. The performance is quite snappy. The screen is sharp and bright. The two media bays allow for great expandability options. I have a second battery, a DVD/CD-ROM, and floppy drive removable modules. The overall size and weight of the notebook are manageable (but not really lightweight).
I really liked the way Dell let me totally customize my notebook. The built-in WiFi card option on the 4150 was a main selling point for me. This leaves the card out-of-sight and both of my PCMCIA slots open.
I really don't understand why Dell only put one USB port on the computer. And it's only a USB 1.1! No FireWire, no USB 2.0. The speakers are totally WEAK also. My last dig on the Dell is the overall product design. I find it to be very "clunky" and somewhat cheesy. You can take this last comment with the caveat of me being a designer and a 15 year Apple fan.
