| jalexandr15's Full Review: Logitech Quickcam Express Internet Webcam |
This has got to be the worst webcam ever created. If you want something cheap and gives you poor, poor, poor picture quality, run for this camera. Otherwise stay away from it, you want something much better, even if you have to pay a little more for it.
I bought this camera at Office Depot in early 2001 for $30. I've never been fond of it. You look at the thing cross-eyed and it'll fall off your monitor. One of the things that contributes to this is the stupid little cord placed inconveniently on the back of the actual camera itself, which is so heavy and bulky it literally tugs at the whole camera and tries to pull it off the monitor, or whatever you have it sitting on. You also have to fight with it to make it turn a direction and stay there, thanks to again, the huge cord.
I bought a laptop and since I didn't have an actual camera I took my webcam along with me, hooked it up to the USB port and took pictures with it. Then, I thought they turned out decent but since I've got a digital camera I have realized how horrible and just plain pitiful the pictures are that this webcam produces.
I might add that the software that comes along with the camera sucks. If you're one of those that has this camera and wants it to update with a new picture on a website somewhere, run for your life towards Webcam32.
The controls for this camera are lacking, no matter what program you're using. You can raise the brightness and it makes the image appear as if someone poured a soft drink over the lens.
I hardly use this webcam anymore and it's just sitting on top of my monitor. I hate it.
Logitech has some good stuff and some much better webcams, this is a very low class one, probably the lowest.
