When I look at some other reviews here, I realize I have made a mistake by purchasing my Panasonic SA-HE70K receiver at RefurbDepot.com.
My experience with RefurbDepot was a mixed bag. I got the item I ordered and it works so far. However I got the wrong manual and the item shipped several days after it was supposed to. There was no invoice or packing slip enclosed (I guess they assume that the email order confirmation is enough).
First, the site is somewhat difficult to navigate. When you click on DVD, for example, it shows you More Receivers button at the bottom of the page, clicking on which takes you to pages with receivers.
My order shipped several days late, a complaint some other people had. And when it finally arrived, I found that it shipped without a box (the receiver was placed in the brown shipping box padded with some generic shipping material.
And it shipped with a manual for Panasonic SA-HE100 receiver a similar model with some additional features. Because of this, it took me a while to figure out how to enter the receivers setup menu the HE100 uses different buttons for that.
Since the item shipped with the wrong manual, I emailed their customer service if they can mail me the proper manual for my receiver. The response I got was to contact Panasonic. Also, there was no manual/instructions about the remote operation or how to change codes to make menu control devices other than Panasonic. The response I got from Panasonic is that I can purchase a manual for the remote control from them. It would cost me about $7.
The product also has only 90-day warranty (new receivers from Panasonic have 1-year warranty). Had I known all the variables involved beforehand, I would have ordered it for $187 from J&R or for $199 from Crutchfield (shipping included). But I got it from RefurbDepot for $160 (shipping included), which is a pretty good deal.
The BBB web site cites unsatisfactory record for RefurbDepot. See http://www.newyork.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&strBCode=01210000&ComID=0121000000068455
Bottom Line
Overall, in light of complaints and unsatisfactory BBB record of RefurbDepot.com, as well as my experience, I cannot recommend RefurbDepot.
