Unlimited Internet access for a 56K modem for only $8.95 a month with four free mailboxes.
Payments
Highstream offers four ways to make payments, the first is paying $8.95 each month and a first time setup fee of $5.99.
The second way is to pay 6 months in advance for $51.99 with no setup fee costing you about $8.67 a month.
The third option is to pay one year in advance for $101.99 with no setup fee costing you about $8.50 a month.
The fourth way to pay is to prepay for 24 months at $191.99 with no setup fee costing you about $8.00 a month.
There is a 30-day Money Back Policy minus the $5.99 setup fee and on the prepaid deals all money will be refunded except a $5.99 setup fee.
Two Week Free Trial
They are offering a two week free trial for 14 days and if you do not cancel on the 15th day they will charge you $8.99 plus a $5.99 setup fee. This is an offer hard to beat, you can try it just to see if it is better than your current Internet provider.
Services
Beside the four e-mail addresses here are what Highstream offers you.
The unlimited Internet does require you to log off after 5 hours of usage but you can reconnect one minute later.
They provide you with a toll free phone number and online support at no charge 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
They have an anti-spam filtering system for your privacy.
They provide a virus protection that scans your e-mail for viruses before it is sent to you.
They offer the latest V.92 modem technology, not all areas have it, mine still has the old V.90.
Getting Started
First of all they have a place to see if you have a local phone number, this is a must so there wont be any long distance charges. Second is to download their software so you are ready to use their service once you signed up.
The next step is to signup. You can signup by phone or directly on the Internet, there is a $5.00 fee for the phone signup. I signed up directly on the Internet and within minutes I was using Highstream.
You will need a credit card or bank card to use the online signup, it is on a secure page.
My Final Thoughts
I have used Earthlink for years at $21.95 a month and dialing up sometimes took a while and then many times the Internet would be on and there would be no action going on, just like it wasnt on at all. I finally got frustrated with their tech support always blaming my computer for the problem, so I went looking online for a new Internet service.
I found Highstream and the price sounded to good to be true, well I have had them for about 1 ˝ months so far and it is running smoothly, so it wasnt my computer like Earthlink was saying. I have had no problems with their service or billing, so far it is a keeper and a bargain at $8.95 a month.
