Cons:Front seat has a low back rest, hard to turn
The Bottom Line: Like every stroller that I have owned, the Duo Glide does have its pros and cons. But, I would at least give this stroller a look
We bought this stroller for our two boys who are 19 months apart for a few reasons. When we just had one child we had a Graco stroller that we really liked. It had an attachable infant car seat that is compatible with the Duo Glide stroller. This is a great option that saved us quite a bit of money. The Duo Glide has a foot rest for the rear riding child. Many that we looked at either had no rest and the child's feet would dangle into the basket or there would be two separate smaller baskets. The rear foot rest in the back allows for a large storage basket underneath. The Duo Glide has two nice shades. If you use the rear seat with an infant seat, the shade on the seat and the shade on the stroller meet up making a nice enclosure for your baby. The rear shade is removable.
Unfortunately there are a couple of downfalls to the Duo Glide stroller. The main problem that I had was that my older son had a hard time napping in his seat. The back rest is pretty short and when he would try to nap his head would fall off of the end. My son has always been tall for his age but he was only 19 months old when we got the stroller. The infant carrier fits in the back so switching who sat where was not an option. I am thinking that this stroller may actually be more appropriate for two children who are further apart in age than my boys. An older child might not be so prone to taking naps so the short back rest may not be an issue. I would suggest actually putting your older child inside of the seat before you buy to see if this would be a problem for you.
The only other problem that I had with the Duo Glide was the maneuverability. It moves very easily forward and backwards but turning the stroller is a whole different story. The stroller is designed for the larger child to sit in the front causing an awkward weight distribution. The stroller weighs so much more up front that it takes a lot of muscle to turn corners. Double strollers seem to be a catch twenty-two. It seems to me that you either have to buy a double wide stroller (which I have also done) and hope that you can fit through the aisles in department stores and lines at theme parks. Or you can buy a stroller that is arranged like a Duo Glide and have it be harder to turn.
After owning six strollers, I am still in search of the perfect stroller. So far they have all had their pros and cons. Because the Graco is so durable and it has a lot of nice options, I would definitely recommend trying the Duo Glide stroller on for size.
