I ordered a relatively inexpensive Acer Notebook from them. It did arrive on time but was left on my front doorstep (a $900+ item) and currently the temperature here in RI has been 10 degrees. The computer is not to be left in temperatures lower than 32 degrees.
I open up the computer from it's poorly packaged and suspiciously generic box and it is missing a couple very important items. Not only is it missing the power cord but I flip the computer over and it has a big hole in the back where the battery should go. So they sent me a $900+ computer that I can not use. When I spoke with customer service people and managers they said that there was nothing they could do. They were willing to give me a store credit of $90, when the pieces missing were going to cost at the VERY LEAST $150. I told them that I would not want to purchase anything from them again and that they sent me a product I could not use and should buy and send me the parts that the computer is missing. They had nothing comparable to send me and offered to send me a return shipping label and give me 10% off my next purchase. WHY THE HELL WOULD I EVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN... that was a laugh. So, now I have to pay for the original shipping and a 5% restocking fee? A TOTAL SCAM! They send people half-assed products and make money on it either way... whether you buy and keep it or they make money on restocking fees when people are dissatisfied...
So now I am stuck with a dilemma... Do I just keep it and buy the missing pieces... or do I send it back and pay restocking fees? The one reason I may keep it is because I have read other complaints where they didn't sign for packages upon return... One solid choice I have made is to report them to the Better Business Bureau and never use them and never recommend them to anyone. If you are reading this and have been disappointed, I recommend you call the BBB as well. Here is the BBBs contact info, they have a very easy form online you can fill out:
