The Bottom Line Going Digital? Go Fuji.
If you are in the market for a digital camera, you have so many choices, it may cause some headaches. My written Epinion will try to narrow down your list of cameras..
First not sure whether to go digital or not?
Advantages.
Same if not Better quality than regular camera
Output to Computer to email pictures to friends
Output to Printer to create photographs or enlargements.
# of pictures is only limited to the memory card you buy
No developing or film costs. (one time memory card fee)
you can choose which pictures to print, which to delete
Disadvantages.
Battery life (depending on camera)
need a HQ printer to print photo-realistic prints.
memory cards can be pricey
Comments.
In the end, the digital camera will end up saving you lots of money, primarily because you can choose to print only the good pictures.. All you need is a good printer, (for under 200, i recommend an epson printer) i have seen the digital camera prints from an epson, and they were just as good a real print.
Recommended Cameras.
Kodak has great picture quality, but the cameras tend to be on the bulky side.
Fuji has the best looking cameras in my opinion, they are extremely well built.. more metal than plastic, and have very very good picture quality.
Olympus, i have only heard praise for. Though build quality seems to lack behind the Fuji. If you can afford it, i would go for the Fuji 4700 or 4900, these are the best cameras i've seen so far.
