Cons:Other than price....none!
The Bottom Line: This PC is a beast. Fast, Efficient, and Reliable!

In January, my PC abruptly died. I am a Software Engineer by profession, so I had previously built all the PCs I owned. When the PC died, I was in a big rush to get a new machine because I needed to quickly recover the data from my old PC for a project I was working on. With that having been said, I was VERY concerned about buying a Compaq machine. Friends of mine had had lots of problems with Compaq’s in the past, and I had had to rebuilt the operating system on a couple of those.

To my surprise, this new PC, the Compaq 6370US has blown my mind. I’ve never had a better PC in my life.

First off, the speed is a blistering 2.53 Ghz (Intel Pentium 4). This thing can blow the doors off most applications. Sure, PCs are up above 3 Ghz now, but I assure you, you won’t need any more than this thing can push out (for the time being).

Next, it comes with 512 MB of RAM. Once again, I can’t imagine needing any more memory for the time being.

It also comes with Windows XP, with is a plus. I had Windows ME before this and this is a welcomed change.

The 6370 comes with a DVD player and a CD-RW drive. The CD-RW drive writes CD-Rs at a quick 40x! That’s a full-length music CD in under 2 minutes!!!!

I won’t fail to mention the gigantic 120GB hard drive. You can download anything you want all day long and not run out of space.

You can top all of that off with a very nice keyboard, standard mouse, floppy drive, iEEE (firewire) port, and more USB ports than you can shake a stick at.

Overall, the machine was a bit pricey for me at $1200 (not including monitor). But the thing has been very reliable so far, and generally far better than I ever imagined. I highly recommend this one.
