| choboy521's Full Review: Sonic Blue Rio S35 128MB MP3 Player |
The Player
The S35S has rubberized case and asymmetrical, ergonomic shape and at 2.5 by 2.75 by 0.8 inches and 2.2 ounces it is very portable and convenient to carry around. The player comes with over-the-ear headphones that are comfortable and pliable. The clear-plastic belt clip is also flexible; it wraps around the back of the player like a hand for a secure fit and provides an extra layer of protection to the S35S's already durable body. The same case also attaches to an included armband for easy use when working out. The player uses a AAA battery which provides around 15 hours of play.
Function
The player features a backlit LCD an interface which enable easy song and menu navigation through a large, circular, four-way navigation button on the front. It also comes with a unusually long usb cable which is very convenient when attached to the back or the computer because it is then able to reach all the way to the top of your desk. The player has a FM radio and can play MP3s and WMAs. You can also adjust six preset EQs add bass or treble; you can also set your own EQ by manipulating the graphical sliders. The S35S comes with 128MB of onboard memory and has a MultiMedia Memory card expansion slot for increasing storage up to a total of 256MB. The S35S digitally receives FM stations via a seek function, manual tuning, or eight presets. Using the presets is a good idea since the seek function often stops on empty channels and manual tuning takes too long.
Software
RealOne is included and encodes MP3s at bit rates up to 320Kbps and Rio Music Manager transfers files to the device. The player is also compatible with iTunes.
