The Bottom Line: Great sound, easy to use, small. Most importantly - its 30 hour plus battery life cannot be beat.

I wanted to purchase an MP3 player for my workouts at the gym, and also for my commute to work. After extensive research, I decided on getting the Edigital Odyssey 100 MP3 player. I also purchased a 128MB memory card, which is in addition to the 64MB internal memory it comes with. The unit uses a single AA battery.
First of all, I was a bit skeptical about it's claim of 30 hours of continuous playing. Well... I have to give it to them. This product truly delivers as promised. Although other products may come with rechargeable batteries, the battery life of the other comparable units are maybe one fifth as long. This product does not come standard with an AC adapter, but I truly do not need one when it can go for 30 hours+ on a single battery. In fact, I have it hooked up to my car stereo on my daily commute. I often just leave it in the glovebox, taking it out on my commutes or when I go to the gym. With other products I would have to bring it in with my every day so I could recharge the battery.
The software it comes with works effortlessly with my desktop, which is running Windows XP Home. Adding songs is as easy as dragging the files over and dropping it into the playlist, the program takes care of the rest. I really didn't have to read the owner's manual. Transfers are very fast on a USB connection. I wouldn't expect any less from a company that is known for it's expertise on memory management.
The sound quality is very good. The headphones are of very good quality, and I didn't need to upgrade them. They also stay on during my workouts (mainly treadmills, ellipticals, in addition to weight training).
My only regret is that I wish I bought it sooner. It makes going to the gym more fun and my daily drives almost bearable.
