Pros: Beautiful Styling, Lovely selection of fabrics and styles. Good warranty.
Cons: Not well built for daily use. Frequent style and fabric changes in their inventory.
The Bottom Line: The chairs are beautiful, but they are not well built recliners. Save up and buy a Lazy-Boy instead.

| kfdaycare's Full Review: Lane® Victoria High-Leg Recliner 792-9031B |
I love the IDEA of the Lane High Leg recliners and I love the actual chairs, while they last!
I purchased my first High Leg Recliner in 1996. It was lovely! A wing back style chair with recliner and lovely taupe fabric that coordinated perfectly with my living room set. The chair was comfortable and the mechanism and frame worked beautifully!
Unfortunately, I got a dirt stain on the chair that just wouldn't come out. I had purchased a fabric warranty to cover this and after they paid to have the chair professionally cleaned..the stain was still there. The replacement portion of the warranty was put into motion and I was sent back to the store I purchased from to reorder.
A few weeks later I got a call and was told to come in and reselect fabric as my original fabric was discontinued. I did that and a few weeks later, got a call and was told my chair model had been discontinued. So back I went and finally on my third attempt got a new chair delivered.
Chair number two just literally fell apart...fabric and mechanism..within 6 months. Literally..one day I was sitting in the chair and heard a "thunk" and the entire mechanism had just fallen out! So that one was replace as well.
Again it took two tries to get a chair and fabric style that was not discontinued. (In fact this happened each time I re-ordered)
Chair number three was a lovely chair as well, but during manufacturing, sharp edges were left on the frame that would rub through and leave holes in the fabric. The companies solution to this was to reupholster the chair and replace the seat cushion. They did NOT fix the rough areas under the fabric. I stood there both times the man was out to reupholster and asked him how he thought the fabric was NOT going to tear again if they didn't fix the underlying problem. He kept assuring me it was fine. Finally when the chair needed a third cushion and reupholstering the fabric was discontinued so they decided...you guessed it..to replace the chair again!
Chair number four lasted the longest. I had that one from February 2001 until yesterday. (March 2003)
That chair was dying a slow death in my living room. First the fabric on the footrest started turning black..the tapestry colors rubbed off and it looked like it had been burned. Then the springs began to sag and we started finding black oily stains and bits of foam on the carpet. Lately we would find screws but couldn't see where they came from. Then last month the left "wing" of the wingback just came loose.
Chair number five was delivered yesterday. It's very pretty and I am sure I will enjoy it for a year or so. I think if this one is a problem too...I will NOT be asking for a sixth chair. It has been fun getting a new look for my room with a new fabric and chair style every year or so...but enough is enough.
These chairs are lovely. There are a variety of styles to choose from in a variety of price ranges. They are comfortable and usually the mechanism works very smoothly. They come with Arm Covers and look great in a room! But given my experience, they have given much thought to style, but not enough to function and durability. This is the only piece of furniture I've ever bought that gave me so much trouble.
I will spend a bit more next time and buy a Lazy Boy!
