A little pricey, but better than others.

Pros: Clean Room. Nice staff. Close to tube (metro).
Cons: Older. Slippery tub.
The Bottom Line: If you can afford it, compare it with other-likewise hotels. Good location and nice staff. Clean rooms.

| austinandie's Full Review: Millennium Baileys Hotel |
I only stayed at this hotel one night. This was in March of this year (2003). The hotel stands almost next to a tube station (metro) for those who travel economically in London (although it is about the worst metro/subway anywhere: e.g stations are frequently closed on short notice and you are left to walk 10 blocks, maybe to another or bus stand). The doormen are only there during checkin times (in the early to middle afternoon), but I asked several questions of the coincerge and they were very helpful and went out of their way to assist me.
The room was small by US standards, but really not bad at all. It was older and the lifts (elevators) were tiny, but seemed to work fairly well (I was on the 5th floor). Checkin was smooth and although I did not specify smoking or not, the floor I was on was a smoking one and smelled like it. If you are not a smoker, be sure and state you want a nonsmoking floor.
The bed was clean and comfortable. The TV was at least 20" and everything worked except the desk lamp (which had a short in the base). The bathroom was small, but had a bathtub and "european" shower (handle unit), and was clean. There were enough towels and a towel heater in the bathroom (nice touch)!. The hotel supplied a minibar (cost) and had complimentary coffee/tea and other necessities.
The only negative would be the cost and some questionable characters in the neighborhood (my opinion and the opinion of a local I spoke with). Several small Indian restaurants in the area (be careful with those). I didn't use restaurant in hotel. There is a store on the same block as the metro/in a mini-mall that has everything plus some!). Staff was nice and friendly.
