Yes, it's small. That's the whole point. Everybody wants to take a look at this tiny little laptop. It's very cool looking and seems weightless. You can get used to the small keyboard and screen when the payoff is the small, light machine before you. Also, it supports Windows 2000.
That's where the good part ends. Probably the most irritating part about this machine is the "docking" procedure: Instead of a traditional dock as you might imagine, the 3110 comes with a short expansion cable with a bundle of ports on it. In fact, the main system itself only includes 1 PCMCIA port, the external floppy port and the interface for the docking cable. Portable sales people won't even find a video port for doing presentations. You'll need to tote along the docking cable for that!
Reading above, you were probably wondering where the external CD-ROM connected. The CD device, only available as a third-party device, connects to the one and only PCMCIA slot.
Also, for a unit this small, you'd at least expect decent battery life. Not so. God luck even getting an hour of light to medium use out of this computer.
If you want an ultra-portable laptop, don't give up. Just look for it from somebody other than Toshiba.
