Frontpage follies too frequent to forget

Written: Feb 15 '01
Pros:Easy to use, maybe TOO EASY
Cons:Can often confuse the unintiated more than help.
The Bottom Line: If you willing to put up with low end, poor looking webpages, by all means buy this software. I recommend wasting your money other places however.

Microsoft has done it again, they've realeased another load of garbage for all of us to swallow. Whether they seriously thought this program was a worthy competitor to easier, simpler HTML editors, or if they just planned on slapping the Microsoft name to a useless collection of nonsense, Frontpage is truly a waste of time.

At first glance the controls seem easy to work, familar to other microsoft programs, easy to create layouts, design and the such. As the first time user soon finds out however, microsoft builds in their own proprietery system of working gears and motors, that for some odd reason, only works on microsoft servers! If you have a beutifully designed webpage from the collection of already cheasy standard clip art ready to publish, you'll soon find out that it quickly falls apart once loaded. Microsoft failed to make it compatable with any known web standard. The end result? visitors utterly confused and upset over content that's only second best to cheaper, easier to use editors already on the market.
