Pros: Relatively small form factor for the class. Very comprehensive features.
Cons: A bit thick. A bit awkward as a phone without headset. A bit pricey.
The Bottom Line: If you need a palm, phone, email/web access, camera and voice recorder, why not get it in one, very cool looking box.

| jasonalec's Full Review: Sony Ericsson P800 GSM / EGSM Cellular Phone |
For several years I have been waiting for a small phone/palm device that I could sync with outlook. This is the first I have found worth considering. This unit has a nice sturdy design and great features. You can download a free opera browser for it that optimizes pages to fit the screen. The blue tooth functionality works great with my Jabra headset and makes it a bit easier to deal with the slight bulk of the phone (you can keep the phone in your briefcase/jacket/inside pocket). Compared to the other phones in the category such as the palm type phones it is relatively svelt. Great bright color screen.
Some slight peeves. The stylus is a bit weak/flimsy. Some of the included software could be better. The calendar program for instance syncs with outlook but does not bring in certain fields (birthday/anniversary for instance). The calendar does not seem to sync recurring items from outlook even though it allows you to enter them. I have not looked yet but I imagine there are other software products written for Symbian that could fill in the gaps. I am trying out one called handy day that is pretty good. The voice recognition could be a little touchy, recognizing names some times and not others. None of the cell companies are currently supporting this model in the US so it may be difficult to get support from them to set it up. I had to search around the tmobile site to get the Web settings set up properly.
Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons and I am very happy with the product. There is a huge envy factor from people who have noticed me using it. I ordered it direct from sony ericsson for $650. I was able to sign up with a Tmobile contract through Amazon with a base level phone (which is actually very nice to use as a backup) and I will actually get money from them for signing up, subsidizing the cost of the phone. Once I got my p800 I simply switched the chip and am up and running.

Yes
Amount Paid (US$): 650
