I wish I had read the opinion on this subject last year.

The Bottom Line Just the best picture and sound quality you could imagine. It costs to start with, but you save in the long run.
Believe it or not, we were given a DVD, and it sat in it's box. We finally got it out and decided to buy a couple of discs to try it out.
Firstly we found the picture and sound quality to be superb. Far better than cable, or digital cable. It felt as if we were in the movie theater, but were able to relax in our own home.
The C.D. itself is very similar to being at the movies. You have the options to view trailers, various parts of the movie, but have the luxury of using the still frame, if a bathroom stop in needed.
Another great feature we love is being able to fast forward to other scenes. After watching a film, sometimes I just didn't get a particular scene. This is were this is an added plus. The fast forward can be played at numerous speeds allows you to find the scene you want with ease.
We bought a few discs, but decided to join a DVD club.
www.netflix.com. They allow you to rent DVD's for $19.95 per month. You create a list of movies you want. They get delivered to your home first class mail. The great thing is you can keep them as long as you want. There are no due dates or late fees. When finished return them in the prepaid envelope. You can have up to 3 out at a time. Cancel whenever you wish. Right now they have 300,000 members. Their telephone number is 1-888-638-3549.
So if you are not a collector and only wish to view a movie once, this is a great idea. I just love it.
What am I going to do once I finish this opinion. You got it, I am off to my DVD player, and watch a movie. Just love the convenience of it. Sit back and enjoy.
So if you still want to go down to the local video store and rent them, by all means do so. Just don't forget to take them back on time.
