McAfee came pre-installed on our laptop which saw very lite use in the first year of ownership. McAfee prompts you to re-new at the end of the initial period and we did. What a mistake. About 5 weeks later after a period of heavy use, the laptop did a slow crash and burn where program after program stopped working. It turned out to be the KLEZ virus, an old and extremely well-known virus that even a free virus protection program should prevent. It took me more than 10 hours to restore all of the programs and files.
When I contacted McAfee, they were incredibly rude in informing me that we had exceeded our 30 day money-back guarantee by a week so tough luck for us. I cannot believe these guys are such a recognized company when they treat customers like this.
Don't make the same mistake - buy any other program.
