Pros: Zero pros regarding this awful computer.
Cons: Too numerous to list in this space. Everything wrong with it.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this computer like the plague due to it's cheap manufacturing, constant break-downs and terrible tech support.

The Compaq Presario 1700 is the worst laptop computer I have ever used. It didn't work directly out of the box (I had to call customer service to straighten some stuff out before it would even turn on) and I have had nothing but problems with it ever since. Simply put...it is a cheaply made laptop and performs like one. The keys fall off the keyboard, I've had to replace the power cord three times (and now have to send the computer in for service due to an AC jack problem) and it is barely a year old. Save yourself some stress and trouble and get yourself a Dell or Gateway laptop. I've owned both Gateways and Dells in the past and they are sturdily made and customer service (you will rarely need it) is top notch. THE COMPAQ PRESARIO 1700 IS A PIECE OF JUNK!!!
