Pros: It comes well packed
Cons: Does not work, and no one can fix it!
The Bottom Line: It's great. Just be sure to get one that works, and avoid the repair system!

| sonar1's Full Review: Panasonic PT-42PD2P 42 in. Flat Panel Television |
Bought a new one from B&H in New York. It did not work, so I called Panasonic to be sure I was doing everything right. Norm convinced me that New York was too far to send it back, and that I should take it to the local Panasonic repair. STUPID! I DID IT! MISTAKE! B&H says they would have replaced it.
The local guys had never seen one, and over a week, took it apart and replaced all of the boards. Now convinced that they cannot fix it they are sending it to Illinois for repair. It took the shipping box 2 weeks to get here.
The customer service people are nice, but admit that they are an information service, and have no power. The headquaters operator is nice, but is only directory assistance, and will not connect me with anyone without a name. My letters go unanswered. The supervisors who are to call me back don't. e-mail questions refer me to the phone people.
My new plasma arrived 28 days ago, and was in my home for less than an hour. When I finally get it, it will be old, used, reconditioned. I am not happy, but no one has the power to send me a new one. PANASONIC UUUUGGGHHH!!!!
UPDATE: AFTER 6 weeks, I got it back; the sound didn't work. When they replaced the screen in Illinois, they left two plugs loose inside. Another trip to the shop.
BUT it's beautiful. The sound is fine, the picture is amazing! I recommend the set, but just be sure to get one that works.
