Ordered the Toshiba laptop online because they had by far the cheapest price. As everyone else describes, you have to phone them to confirm the order. In principle I have no problem with this, but they use it as a tool to try to upsell, which is a bit underhanded. They tried to sell me a 3 year extended warranty, but I didn't bite.
The phone call is the time at which they tell you the product is refurbished (class A), and they add on the undisclosed 4% insurance fee. They also claimed the standard warranty was 1 year - but for refurbished products it is actually only 90 days from Toshiba. Not a particularly nice way to conduct business, in my opinion. They should have disclosed all of this up front on the web site.
So, that is all the "bad" news on the ordering experience. On the plus side, I asked for 2nd day shipping and that is what I got. The product arrived on time as promised. Also, the product worked flawlessly out of the box - so I am pleased overall with the purchase.
However, I can only begin to imagine what a nightmare it would be to deal with these folks if problems arise. I was fortunate that everything went smoothly. For that reason, I could not recommend this company to others, I probably would not buy with them again.
