The "Z Pack" you mention is Zithromax (Azithromycin).
Thanks for the idea about the herbs, but I have autoimmune thyroid disease. Anything that "stimulates" the immune system is bad for me. But I AM making sure to take my vitamins regularly!

I really sympathize with your strep- I hear the word and get it- Last time, my doctor gave me the "z-pack" after I had strep for 2 months. It was 5 pills, and it zapped the strep- sorry I can't think of the name of the drug. Also, I wonder if you had tried echinacea and goldenseal? I know alot of people that swear by it, to build immunity. I usually take it when I hear of people with strep around me, and I think ( at least in my mind, and that is enough;) that it helps a bit. Good luck. And thanks for such a great epinion.

When I was a kid I called strep throat "a sore throat you take antibiotics for" because I got it so often (sometimes once a month) that I was just used to it.
Carriers are unfortunately very common; as I recall, my mother turned out to be a carrier. Good reason to get everyone in the family tested the moment anyone tests positive for it.
While I've never caught an antibiotic-resistant strep, I have the complementary problem - I'm now allergic to almost every antibiotic they can give me for it. :}
Great review, and I too had no idea about the "sensitivities" thing!

You're welcome! I had never heard of "sensitivities" until this happened to me! I'm glad to give everyone a "heads up" on this piece of information!
