Minor postscript.
The TRV19 now (as of 8/4/03) sells for a shade above $500 from some web discounters which is a bargain for what one gets. This is very identical in performance to the $800 TRV33. Same CCD chip and zoom lens.
Only some very minor features are missing in the TRV19. Just my two cents.....

Very Accurate and easy-to-digest review!! (Reply to this comment)

Kudos to DKozin once again for logically presenting the essence of the TRV19/22/33 trio.
These camcorders are the lowlight champs! I still plan on buying a halogen light for my TRV19 though. Now does the TRV-19 have a cold-shoe? I hope so.
I do not want to add anything to DKozin's already great review -- except that a buddy of mine bought the TRV33 and he's a relative newbie. He's sold on the sharp contrasty footage and loves the ergonomics. He paid almost $800.
He could have bought the TRV19 but ended up with the TRV33 because he needs the analog input for converting his early VHS tapes to digital -- this DA converter comes with TRV33 but not with the TRV19.
From what I've read so far -- I'd be still okay with the TRV19 and the only thing I'd miss for NOT buying a TRV33 is--
1. B/W viewfinder in TRV19 - not color like TRV33
2. No Analog input or DA converter
But I don't have a large VHS collection to convert. I hope this makes the choices a bit more clear for everyone.
