| mycomments's Full Review: Embassy Suites Hotel New York City |
My sister and I got a surprisingly good 1-week deal in November 2002, staying at the "Embassy Suites Hotel" in Downtown, New York. We booked the hotel with ebookers.
The hotel was very grand, with numerous seating areas, bars, restaurants, health centre, shop and a 16 screen cinema. The staff were very helpful, also the concierge service were very attentive. There were 4 lifts which seem to come immediately every time called. The hotel seemed to be mostly occupied with business customers, which at least kept the hotel moderately quiet all the time.
The rooms were fantastic, very clean throughout the stay and exactly as they looked in the photos we'd seen. The living room comprised of a huge TV, table and chairs, mini bar, coffee maker and sink.
The marbled bathroom was large with plenty of toiletries, which were replenished each day.
The separate bedroom was big, with 2 queen size beds, the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced in a hotel and another large TV and plenty of wardrobe space.
The living room being in between the door and the bedroom kept all noise from the hallway out. The view from our window was of the world financial centre, across the road from the Embassy Suites.
Breakfast being included was a huge bonus, everything from juice and cereal to cooked breakfast and hot drinks. Also free drinks between 5 - 7pm were provided yet I never had time to take advantage of it.
The only downside was the 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station (Chambers Street). It wasn't too bothersome, but I can imagine for some people that would be off putting.
