I got a call at work a few weeks back from my 15-year old son. He asked me if I could check and see if a store he was thinking about shopping at online had a good rating on EpinionsI was ecstatic! He was becoming a savvy-shopper! Seems hed been searching Google for a pair of high-jump shoestheyre not easy to find since they are specifically used just for this purpose. He found a pair he liked, on sale, and he wanted to order. The store was FirstToTheFinish.com.
Unfortunately there wasnt a review on Epinions, but after checking with the Better Business Bureau and other sources, I decided to surprise him by ordering the shoes for him. The site was easy to navigate, but I didnt do a lot of window shopping because he new what he wanted. I chose the size, was informed immediately they were in stock, added them to my cart and headed for check out. Once there I registeredsimple information and credit card number. Once done I received a confirmation in my e-mail immediately.
I was surprised at the cost of shipping. For a pair of tennis shoes, shipped by UPS (using the slowest way possible 7 days in UPS's care), the price was $9.95. For the same price they could have shipped USPS Priority and they would have arrived sooner. Small complaint, but since the shipping was higher I ASSUMED theyd come faster. This is their one downfallit was never mentioned when they would arrive. They did offer online tracking with UPS but no estimated delivery date from the beginning.
They arrived in excellent condition and my son is thrilled. Hes shopped all over the net for them and these were 25% less for the same shoeI was happy about that! I wasnt charged sales tax so that helped make up for the larger shipping fees.
