Well readers watch out for this one. Make sure that your appliance dealer gives you all the multipart copies that they do not need for their own records so as to be prepared to submit them on request for rebates as specified by the power companies that are participating in rebate programs. Then you will avoid delays in receive all legitimate rebates applicable.

I do not know why bottom freezer units cost more than top freezer models but they do and significantly it seems. I may be the result of the fact that they are now becoming more popular and there is basically only one supplier. NO COMPETITION usually equals higher prices. Also since this item has not been in as high a volume of production as other styles of refrigerators the economies of scale probably also greatly influences the final production costs.

Almost Exhaustingly Thorough (Reply to this comment)

This is the exact-type review that idealizes Epinions; a report on a well-researched purchase (instead of the typical litany of blurbs that people submit on each and every piece of junk they own).

I myself am suspicious of my own refrigerator; i dunno how old it is, but is sure as hell makes the electrical meter spin like a top. I've been bracing for the purchase for some time, but really, my only specification i care about is that it have a bottom-located freezer section. Thing is, they seem to come at $300-400 premium when compared to a traditional unit with identical features - you know why?

Later.

Oh My! Well Thank you Howard. You better watch out cause I may be tempted to invest in some scientific testing equipment. Then it could it even more fun whenever I drag something new into my house. But unfortunately then my wife might just have to "kill" me.
Best Regards.
