I have been seeing only good reviews for this product all over the net. I was wondering how it can topple systems like the Gateway 9300, which is clearly yet the best specified laptop yet in terms of performance and reliability not to mention affordability. So after searching for the best specified laptop without the price-tag i bought my first Micron. I was sceptical at first because for the price, i was suspecting a lowdown on the product. I have been using my Transport ZX P3 650mhz laptop for a while now. And I must say that the $1899 i paid in Outpost.com for it is yet my soundest investment so far.This baby rocks in every aspect. Lets start with the processor. Although by the time im writing this review, a much faster processor must have come out by then, but that wont stop you from admiring this Micron. It has been rated head to head with Gateway 9300 and it didnt disappoint in terms of performance. Maximize the memory to 256 with just adding 130$ and you have a real desktop replacement. What i really like is the 15.1" XGA TFT screen. It is sharp and if you are like me who uses the computer more than i sleep with my wife, then this kind of screen will surely be a plus. The harddisk size is modest at 10GB. The proliferation of ports and connections for peripherals will surely be appreciated by anyone. 2USB ports, S-Video out, 2 Type II PC Card slot, RJ 11 jack, IRda port, etc. the possibilities are endless here. The cover boast a stunning magnesium alloy casing that is there to protect the huge screen. The body is finished in a material that is alien to most laptops. In fact, it is so nice to touch that you are almost touching a baby's bottom. No kidding. The rest of the body is finished in soft-leather like material. One thing other manufacturers should emulate over the proliferation of plastic in even the high-end systems. It is lightweight for a desktop replacement too at 7 lbs. This system commands respecet wherever it goes, thanks to its highly specified processor and quality subsystem components.It doesnt break the bank either. at 2050$ for a P3 650mhz at 256MB RAM, 8MB Video memory, i can only say two words, GET IT! before it disappears from the shops. YOu will have a system that will stay with you for a long time.and did i mention that the battery tick at 3.5 to 4 hours mark???
