| kgdunk222's Full Review: Blaupunkt CDC-RF6IR Car CD Changer |
I got my Blaupunkt 6-Disc CD changer this past summer. So far it has worked pretty well for me. Among the pros:
-Pretty easy to use - simple buttons, simple design allow for more concentration on the road while driving.
-Reliable - Mine is mounted in the trunk of my Explorer, and it hasn't suffered at all despite being hit with numerous bags and such in the trunk. Also, it almost never skips, a plus if you drive on the decrepit streets of DC.
-It's easy to switch CDs if you have someone else in the car with you - just pop it out and load it up.
-It's just great to have a CD changer!
-Price - I got mine from a Crutchfield's catalog for about $200. Not bad, but...
Cons:
-Installation - The changer is difficult to install; there are wires and hookups most people could not put together. I had to take mine to a car audio dealer for installation, which cost about $75(and that was with a discount), bringing my net price to $275.
-Remote - The remote control is not particularly useful; it's just as easy, if not easier, to reach down to the control module itself to change tracks or discs. Unless you can mount it on your steering wheel, I would recommend sticking it in the glove compartment or somewhere where it won't be in your way.
