| Ladysmom's Full Review: Kaboom Shower, Tub and Tile Cleaner |
After hearing all the hype about this new product called Kaboom, I thought I would give it a try.
You cant miss the commercials, even if you arent a television watcher. It seems that it is on the air every few minutes.
Kaboom Shower, tub & Tile Cleaner cant be missed when shopping, just look up and you will see a purple bottle with a green sprayer. Kaboom is boldly emblazoned across the front in white. This is also made by the fine folks that make OxiClean. Now that is a great product.
The front of the bottle states that it will aggressively clean, soap scum, dirt, grout, hard water buildup, calcium & lime stains and rust stains.
We have really hard water where I live and everything I have tried doesnt seem to get rid of those nasty white marks on shower doors and around faucets. Billy Mayes states how wonderful this stuff is just spray it on and wipe it off; marks are gone.
With this 22 ounce bottle filled with a miracle cleaning solution, how could one go wrong with purchasing?
What the bottle doesnt tell you is you have to be superman or superwoman to scrub away the stains. You have to use more than elbow grease to get rid of the hard water stains. A jack hammer would be more like it.
You are supposed to apply directly to surface or with sponge and let stand for one to three minutes then wipe and rinse thoroughly with water. Repeat as necessary.
When you have finished scrubbing the hard water spot and rinsing, it looks clean until it dries, then that hazy white glaze is back.
After four scrubbings of my shower doors they finally looked like I did at lease make an effort.
As for taking off rust stains, it didnt budge the one that I have on the back walk of the house. It is still there. This was used three times on that one.
The one thing that Kaboom Shower, tub & Tile Cleaner did clean was a penny. Took all the tarnish off and left it sparkling clean.
Since I dont have anything larger in copper than a penny, I cant vouch that it will do a good job on copper.
The scent is an ok scent but nothing I would get excited about. It leaves the room smelling clean and not a real chemical smell.
Kaboom Shower, tub & Tile Cleaner doesn't do a very good job of cleaning grout. OxiClean or bleach will clean white grout back to white where Kaboom Shower, tub & Tile Cleaner you can't tell a difference.
Would I recommend this product? No. I find that it is a total waste of money when there is Lime Away for hard water stains and OxiClean for cleaning grout and other stains.
It is recommended to read all safety precautions of any product that you use and follow the directions carefully.
