I have to preface my remarks by saying that this vacuum was purchased as a second machine. We own a full size upright which is great for carpets, but too difficult to move around the house, or to get into smaller areas. The Euro-pro works very well in this capacity.

The Euro-pro shark is small and easy to move around the house. It is surprisingly powerful for such a small machine, and makes fast work of cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms. I have my doubts about ow well it would work on plush carpets, but it is not bad on low pile, and excellent on wood floors and tile. In addition, I like that it has a Hepa filter. The filter is small, but effective. With my larger vacuum I can see dust being kicked up, and can often smell it. Not so with the shark.

It comes with attachments for practically every need, but, there's no on board storage for them. This makes an otherwise convenient machine somewhat less efficient (as you may have to make several trips to the closet to get attachments as you need them). For those in a small apartment or dorm room, that won't be much of an issue. In a large house where portability is the main asset, it's more of an issue.

The directions which came with the machine were clear and easy to follow. It is very easy to use and to maintain- with a notable exception. I have yet to find anyplace which carries replacement bags! Fortunately this machine can be used with either disposable bags or a reusable cloth bag. It's nice to have that option.

The machine is plastic, and looks and feels a bit like a toy. I have to admit I have my doubts about its durability.
We have only had this machine for 2-3 months, so I can not honestly appraise the durability from personal experience.

The Euro-pro shark works very well for us, but we use it in a very limited way, as a light duty machine for the kitchen, bathrooms and areas which are not accessible with a full size upright.
