The facility is nice and the grounds are okay but don't expect scenic mountain vistas. The food was great. The food was good but don't believe what you read on the website.

We were referred to the place by a friend who raved about the Kobe beef. Since we were going to be in the area we decided to stay there and ask our friends to join us for dinner.

Though the website lists the Kobe beef as an entree for the dinner, when we arrived we were told we needed to let them know in advance so they could order the beef. What they substituted was good, but not up to our expectations.

We graciously accepted the substitution and enjoyed the stay and left on good terms. However, in checking our bill after we got home, we realized they did not apply the 15% discount for our weekday stay.

When I asked them to explain, the reply received was short and not so sweet: "It was 4th of July holiday week Sorry one of only 5 weeks we do not discount during the week." The problem with that explanation is that the policy on their site says the discount doesn't apply on the holidays.

We stayed on July 2-3 which are not holidays. When I told them they needed to say what they meant on their website they responded by saying I was trying to ruin their day and that I should "Be happy!"

In the entire exchange there was no expression or care or concern for the "misunderstanding" and no indication that they intended to change their representations. However, they did say they were going to quit offering discounts, and raise their rates for food and accommodations.

It would have been pricey even if it had been as advertised. Nevertheless, we did leave a $30 gratuity for their daughters' college fund. Had they even offered to refund that they would have still been paid in full for their services and shown a semblance of good will, but they offered nothing, not even an apology for misrepresenting the meal.

They either do not understand good public relations or they simply don't care. If you don't mind being promised one thing and given something else, this is the place for you.

My husband and I went based on the review. This place was not as advertised. I am convinced the writer was either the owner or a member of the family. Try paying for your advertising rather than selling it to us innocents who think you were a real guest.

Wow, sounds fantastic.
Why can't they have places like this in Turkmenistan or somewhere similar!

My wife has family in Oklahoma and this sounds like a perfect base of operations for a trip there.

Yes - I've got a large map of the US in my office that I use to spark my imagination for flying and driving trips. A string works well because you can mark it in 60-70 mile intervals to approximate an hour's worth of driving, and then flex it to follow the contours of the main highways.

Did you really do the string thing for your travel decision? If so, it certainly is a clever tool!
A very nice review! Sounds like a delightful place!

My best,
