I recently sold by Dell Latitude CPi of 2 1/2 years to upgrade to a new system so I figured if anybody can tell you about what to expect, it would be me.
The Dell has really been an excellent system. In comparison to laptops of the same age / release, it really shines above. The problem now is it is an old system and you can expect to run into some problems because of it.
1) All laptops get hot on the bottom but the Dell Latitude gets really hot
2) Latitude battery only gets about 2 hours max (and that was when it was new)
3) LCD screen more seperated from based then most current models
It is a very well designed system which I abused to the point of running a server on. I highly recommend going up to the 128mb of RAM. There is a big difference in performance from the 64mb.
The only real problem I have had is with the LCD screen. Every other day or so, it would (for lack of a better description) go crazy and change to red/green/yellow colors and a grainy picture. It would stay this way for about 5 seconds and then go back to normal. Dell came out (got to love the onsite warranty) and replaced the entire LCD no questions asked which. This is of course impressive considering the LCD accounted for about 90% of the machines value at the time. This fixed the problem for awhile but it has continued since.
Probably this is only for my machine but it is something that you should be aware of.
