yeah I know about the 2nd player option and he's great if you can have a 2nd player, but other ways tails is still the world biggest pain in the butt. Also unlike sonic 3 tails can't give sonic lift to help in exploer other areas.

Yeah Tails is great when you have someone controlling him. Other than that he's just kinda "there" ya know? But as a HUGE Sonic fan, I highly recommend everyone play one of the classic 2D Sonic adventures at least once in their life.

I was gonna mention that you forgot that tails can be controlled by another player. In one player mode, someone can control tails and he can die by drowning without killing Sonic. I remember that being the best thing about Sonic 2.
Great review nonetheless! It brought back lots of memories of Sonic rentals.

i thought tails was a great addition to the game, and he's really helpful in the bonus stages (if you have a second player controlling him).
