Popular Products in Refrigerators
The Bottom Line 5. Coors Light
4. Hooch
3. Cider Jack
2. Honey Brown and Killians Irish Red
1. Foster's and Labatt Blue
Being a college student, I get to drink a lot of beer. Beer served at frat parties are not of the highest quality, so I started going to bars. With a much higher selection, I was able to come up with this list of beers/ales which I feel are the best "bang for the buck". 5. Coors Light It's a nice beer to get started with. The silver bullet goes down smooth since it really has no taste. It's more like water than anything else. You can easily get drunk off this beer. It's pretty cheap since it is a light beer. Every corner store has this available. Recommended for first time beer drinkers. 4. Hooch Hooch is a lot like Mike's Hard Lemonade. It's a drink more for those people who do not like the taste of beer, yet still want to get drunk. Be warned though, any lemon flavored alcoholic drink will make you sick. The sour taste of the lemon will overpower the stomach and make you vomit. Do not drink this is massive quantities unless you have a stomach like a steel trap. Recommended for those who drink wine coolers and mixed drinks. Also comes in orange flavor. Available is most places. 3. Cider Jack Another non-beer. Cider Jack is obviously a cider. It has the same effect as Hooch in the sweetness factor. Too much will hurt you, but it is very smooth. If you see Hooch when buying alcohol, you will almost always see Cider Jack near it. 2. Honey Brown and Killians Irish Red Honey Brown is a non beer drinker's beer. It has a very sweet taste like honey (duh). It has an effect kind of like the ciders and lemon drinks but it doesn't come as quick. It gives you ample time to drink and be drunk without getting that sick feeling to your stomach. It is a nice transitional drink from the sweet drinks like wine coolers and ciders to the more traditional college drink or beer. Killians is almost the same but one step up. More beer taste, less sweet. It's the darkest of all drinks on the list and it's about as dark as I go. Beers like Guiness seem too much like molasses and undrinkable in my opinion. Killians costs a little more than the others, but is worth it if you can get it. 1. Fosters and Labatt Blue I got drunk on this stuff for the first time at Cornell University. I knew it was good before, but not that good. It goes down as easily as water, but gives you that nice buzzed feeling. It is not a light beer, so it gets you drunk quicker. Those foreigners sure know how to brew a good drink. Fosters from Austrailia, Labatt Blue from Canada. Both are readily available at all stores and are not very expensive at all. So take my list for what it's worth and happy drinking. |
