Acquiring this radio will be one of your most remembered disappointments. Virtually every aspect of its engineering shows shoddy workmanship, from the fake looking cabinet, to the cheesy cloth speaker grill. The radio within disgraces the old Grundig name. Give up on the shortwave altogether--a few hums and pops at best. But even the FM, when tested with a classical music station, was tinny sounding, with a constant background static, and a tendency to drift off the station. If you check other networking sites reviewing this product, there are apparently a lot of angry and disappointed customers who wish they had their money back
